IN MARCH 2013, AN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING INITIATIVE FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR – THE PROVING FACTORY – WAS LAUNCHED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR BUSINESS AND INNOVATION AND SKILLS, THE RT HON VINCE CABLE MP.
Productiv Group also includes Productiv Technologies, which specialises in supporting early stage technology developers turning their projects in to businesses and accelerating their technologies to application readiness, and Productiv Services, which provides industrialisation engineering services and facilities to a diverse range of industries, using its wealth of experience within the automotive sector and clean technology.
After two years of development and refurbishment, The Proving Factory in Coventry was officially opened in February 2015 by Sir Vince Cable who was then Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Proving Factory Set Up
The Proving Factory was set up by Productiv, in collaboration with Tata Steel.
Productiv operates the assembly operations in Coventry, Tata Steel owns and operates the component manufacturing facility in Rotherham.
Proving Factory Development
The Proving Factory development was supported by the UK Government through the Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI).
Administered by Birmingham City Council and delivered by Finance Birmingham with additional support provided by Coventry City Council.
